About Stephanie
Steph was diagnosed with ___ , a rare form of intestinal cancer, in February of 2018, and tragically passed away in August of 2021 following a courageous 3-year battle. Steph was a proud wife and mother, her husband Jordan and three children Carter, Stella and Emery.
Despite the challenges during her treatments, Steph continued to always put others first, especially by reaching out to other cancer fighters that she befriended and bonded with about their shared journeys. She was a sincere listener, and a genuinely caring soul. She loved the little things – hand-written thank you notes, dropping off cookies and flowers for friends, snuggling with a good book and her puppy, Desi, by her side.
Steph was known for lighting up any room she entered and welcoming everyone – whether she knew them or not. Steph loved country music and traveling to concerts with friends. She loved tailgating for Iowa football games, attending the annual Wiebler Women’s Wild Weekends, and looked forward to vacations with family and friends to Marco Island. But most of all she loved her children and being a mom; cheering too loudly at Carter’s games, pulling out all the stops for Stella and Emery’s recitals, and intricately planning the kids’ birthday parties and family celebrations.
She drew her strength and determination to continue to fight every day from the unwavering support of her closest friends, affectionately known as “Steph’s Tribe”, and was forever grateful to the numerous work colleagues that donated months of their hard-earned vacation time to help her cope with her diagnosis. Their love and gratitude will forever be remembered and cherished, and their energy is the driving force behind this organization.
The organization recognizes the day to day hardships families face that often go unnoticed.
While Steph’s journey was unique to her, many of the challenging circumstances that she and her family had to navigate are too common among others fighting cancer.
